Hi, I’m Jaz.

A curl specialist, salon owner and educator based in Melbourne and the founder of both Hair Retreat South Melbourne and Island Retreat Head Spa.

I’ve been in the hair industry for over 20 years and now further expanding into Island Retreat Head Spa.

A ritual-based space focused on scalp health, nervous system regulation and intentional care. A place where texture is honoured, but so is rest.

Alongside this, my work in education continues to grow. My goal is to bridge the gap I once felt so deeply, supporting both clients and fellow hairdressers in understanding curly hair through practical, real-world styling techniques and product knowledge that genuinely make a difference. Whether you’re sitting in my chair in South Melbourne, experiencing a head spa ritual, or learning inside one of my workshops, my mission remains the same: To help you feel confident, capable and completely yourself.
